GFDA Top 10 For The Week

Here is the GFDA Top 10 for this week:
1) We were honored to participate in the Montana Eggs expansion grand opening with representatives of over 26 Hutterite colonies, Wilcox Family Farms, Costco and the many partners who worked together to make the project possible, including GFDA investors the City of Great Falls, CTA Architects & Engineers, Mountain West Bank and Guy Tabacco Construction.
2) Central Montana Coop announced it will upgrade its grain operation outside Ft. Benton to a 110 car shuttle loader.
3) Great Falls has been shortlisted for an advanced manufacturing operation. We started work on an incentive package in preparation for prospect visit in early September.
4) US Dept. of State concluded the Keystone Pipeline poses no significant environmental impacts. The pipeline to critical to the projected doubling of Alberta oil sands production and increased Montana oil exploration that create opportunities for the Great Falls region.
5) Scheduled an On the Bubble Workshop to help Great Falls area contractors qualify for PRIME, 8(a) and Hub Zone, as well as discussion of bonding, cash flow management and lean operations best practices. 6) Provided Neighborhood Council 4 with an update on the Great Falls AgriTech Park.
7) Started distributing a new flyer about our Cascade County Brownfield Clean-up loan fund. We have VERY low interest funds available to help developers clean up lead paint, asbestos, oil and other contaminants to allow properties to be redeveloped. Contact Lillian Sunwall at or 1-406-771-9024.
8) Became an official sponsor of the Montana Advanced Technology Roundtables web site,, to help spread the word about the Great Falls business advantage.
9) GFDA will soon present weekly economic development updates on KRTV and StaRadio's new KINX 102.7.
10) Get the word out! We have limited access to very low interest loan participation funds for growing businesses, but interested companies and bank partners should contact us without delay. We are also offering a limited number of low interest downtown real estate gap financing loans to spur more downtown commercial real estate renovation or new construction projects.
