5) Submitted a proposal to the City to start a new MicroEnterprise Technical Services program that would be funded with Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) dollars. The effort is designed to support the creation of jobs for low and moderate income residents, support expansion and start-up of microenterprises, boost the City's property tax base and improve the perception of the City as being business friendly.
6) Presented the Great Falls Brand Print market research results to the Great Falls Convention and Visitors Bureau's Board of Directors.
7) Worked with downtown partners to develop draft articles of incorporation and bylaws for the proposed Downtown Partnership that would coordinate efforts to implement the new Downtown Master Plan.
8) Congratulations to several GFDA investors for moving forward with business investments! City Motors submitted plans for City Design Review for renovation of its Chevrolet facility. 9) The US Conference of Mayors issued a report on US Metro Economies, prepared by IHS Global Insight, that ranked Great Falls 48th (of 363) for 2011 increase in median existing home price (1.3% increase from $132,254 to $133,995). The report also ranked Great Falls US Customs District as the 20th largest port in the country for dollar volume of imports and exports in 2011 through the 3rd quarter, coming in just after San Diego and well ahead of such large metros as Boston and Minneapolis.
10) For our CDFI grant application, we had to compile lending statistics dating back to 1996 when GFDA's predecessor made its first loan to help finance Pasta Montana. We've closed 45 loans totaling $19,288,215 that leveraged an additional $43,192,914 in private investment and helped create 1,319 jobs and retain 665 jobs. We've made 14 loans to women-owned businesses and 10 to minority-owned businesses. We're are working on closing another $6,229,242 in loans we've approved. Our loan portfolio has no delinquencies.
Thanks for your support and have a great weekend!
