Top 12 for the week of Feb 24th

1) We published a report on the survey results looking at demand for a shared commercial processing facility and/or equipment in the Great Falls area to support small agri-processing operations and non-profit food system organizations. The study, funded by Montana Farmers Union with the support of Farmer's Union Industries, is available for download on our web site GFDevelopment.org
2) GFDA's Loan Committee approved a $125,575 loan participation to finance a Great Falls business expansion in partnership with Mountain West Bank.
3) The Staggering Ox has opened its new restaurant in downtown Great Falls. We helped the owners with developing their business plan.
4) Client activity remained high this week. We worked with a downtown retail business considering purchasing a building, discussed a possible Brownfields downtown hazardous waste clean-up with a client, started market research work with an entrepreneur looking to start a local service company, and gave feedback on business plans for an existing service company looking to expand and a start-up manufacturing company. We also worked with several leads considering bringing new business to Great Falls.
5) Our New Markets Tax Credit partner, the Montana Community Development Corporation, was awarded an allocation of another $60 million in tax credits to be put to work in Montana. We are working with MCDC on an agri-processing project and potential downtown projects.
6) The Great Falls City Commission appointed Mayor Mike Winters and reappointed Commissioner Bill Bronson to GFDA's Board. Thank you to Commissioner Fred Burow who has served on our Board the past two years!
7) We assisted in hosting a statewide webinar on SBA 504 Refinancing loans. Contact Jeremiah Johnson (771-9029 JJohnson@GFDevelopment.org ) on our team or contact your bank loan officer if you would like to explore using this new long-term low interest financing tool to help your business.
