Top 10 for the week of April 13th

Here is the GFDA Top Ten for this week, celebrating great things happening to move Great Falls Forward:
1) Good progress is being made on the MATL transmission line, as you may have read in the Great Falls Tribune. We're very pleased that Enbridge and property owners have reached agreement on slight alterations of the route. Construction will be completed by the end of the year.
2) We closed a $125,000 low interest loan participation to assist with a business expansion.
3) This week we worked with 3 Great Falls businesses seeking assistance with expansions. We also worked with an existing business to help analyze its accounts receivable, finding that 84% of its long past due receivables came from only 10% of its clients.
4) We worked with two developers on potential projects, including a downtown Great Falls renovation and new development in Cut Bank.
5) The Great Falls AgriTech Park Task Force met to review sewer bid plans. Water line work on 18th Avenue North was completed. Construction over the next couple of weeks will connect the 16" water line to River Drive North.
6) We met with local partners in Conrad, Cut Bank and Shelby to discuss financing, strategy and development opportunities. Later this spring, we'll be holding workshops throughout the region, in conjunction with our bank and economic development partners, to insure businesses and developers are aware of the tools available to help make their projects possible.
7) Met with MSU Great Falls leadership to work on plans for increased workforce development efforts and proposed agri-business, energy and industrials trades programs.
8) Met with the State Tribal Economic Development Commission to discuss how we can better connect with Indian entrepreneurs and support economic development opportunities.

9) Met with the Canadian Consul of the US for Alberta, Saskatchewan and Northwest Territories and the Montana World Trade Center. We're exploring how best to jump start efforts to connect with Canadian opportunities to create jobs and business opportunities in Great Falls. We had to put this on hold last summer, but hope to have the resources to pursue opportunities starting this summer.
10) We're pleased to announce that Jennifer Rogers will be joining our staff team as Lending Associate later this month.

Congratulations to JM Grain for being named North Dakota Exporter of the Year by the North Dakota Trade Office! GFDA worked with JM Grain to open an office in downtown Great Falls.
