Top 10 for the week of May 18th

Here's the GFDA Top 10 for this week, celebrating great things happening to move Great Falls Forward:
 
1) Easter Seals Goodwill announced plans to consolidate operations downtown, renovating the former First Interstate Bank building. GFDA's Executive Committee approved a $350,000 Brownfield grant to help make the project possible. Congratulations to Easter Seals and First Interstate Bank for putting this great deal together!
2) Frontier Airlines began service to Great Falls. Check out discounted flights Mondays, Thursdays, Saturdays and Sundays!
3) Great Falls City Commission created the new Downtown Urban Renewal District with tax increment financing as a tool to support implementation of the Downtown Master Plan. The Commission also approved a change in GFDA's Downtown Revolving Loan Fund allowing us to finance up to 30% of renovation and new construction projects.
4) Great Falls metro area unemployment rate dropped to 5.5% in April from 6.1% in March.
5) High Plain Financial's Board approved a $126,000 SBA 504 loan to help finance a new business in Great Falls in partnership with Mountain West Bank.
6) Congratulations to National General Supply for winning a 5 year $9 million contract from USAF!
7) SBA announced it is combining eight Federal procurement systems into a new System for Award Management (SAM). 8) Submitted the formal annexation application to the City for the Great Falls AgriTech Park.
9) Participated in a statewide tax increment financing workshop along with City and County officials.
10) Our team worked with a number of businesses this week, including a local business owner who wants to develop a vacant property into owner-occupied retail space using a 20 year fixed low interest rate SBA 504 loan, two businesses needing to strengthen their business plans in order to secure financing, and two companies seeking to improve their internal financial management and marketing capabilities. We put together plans for a large scale prospect visiting Great Falls for 2 days at the end of the month, and worked with a site selector gathering information for a retail developer considering Great Falls.
