Top 12 for the week of May 25th

1) Met with commercial brokers, site selectors, developers and retail, dining, entertainment and lodging companies at the annual RECON trade show. The positive buzz and interest in Great Falls was stronger than any previous year we've been at RECON. Two companies committed to open in Great Falls, three committed to visit and three developers committed to visit our city.
2) MSU Great Falls broke ground on its new Child Development Center. Now that the Center is under construction, we can focus on creating a much needed Industrial, Energy & Agriculture Trades program at the College.
3) Enbridge officials met with interested business people in Great Falls to give an update on MATL construction. Poles are currently being erected in Valier.
4) SBA approved a $110,000 SBA 504 loan we're making to Mountain View Pathology Associates to help the new company purchase a building in Great Falls.
5) Congratulations to Jerry Noble Tire Factory for winning the Ultimate Store Makeover for all Tire Factories in the western US! We're proud to have helped finance their new facility. Visit their open house through June 2nd.
6) MSU announced the selection of Montana native Dr. Susan Wolff to be the new CEO/Dean of MSU Great Falls. We look forward to working with Dr. Wolff in continuing to grow the College to help residents of the entire region gain skills leading to high wage jobs.
7) Met with a developer visiting Great Falls to look for redevelopment projects.
8) Participated in a Brownfield workshop in Havre to help the Hi Line create a brownfield redevelopment program.
9) X-Change Corp announced its 65,000 acre exploration plan in Teton County. The Baker Hughes rig count showed twice as many active rigs in Montana this week compared to a year ago.
10) The Great Falls International Airport Authority Board accepted construction bids for the terminal expansion project.
11) Property owners considering installing wind generators have a new free tool to evaluate wind resources. DOE just released 30, 50 and 80 meter height wind resources maps available online at WindPoweringAmerica.gov

12) GFDA's Nominating Committee released its slate of Director nominees and ballots have been mailed to GFDA private investors. The slate includes Allen Funderburk of Grabofsky, VanHeel & Funderburk, CPA's (incumbent) and Sara Sexe of Marra, Sexe, Evcenson & Bell P.C. for 3 year terms and Mark Mehta of Mehta Properties (incumbent) and Henry Woloszyn of Optimum (incumbent) for 1 year terms.
