Top 15 for the week of July 6th

1) Closed a $457,242 low interest loan participation for EMTEQ.
2) Submitted support of Bonneville Power Administration's Montana-to-Washington Transmission System Upgrade Project -- an upgrade of the existing Colstrip line in partnership with Northwestern Energy. The upgrade will allow Gaelectric to proceed with their 430 MW wind farm near Harlowton in 2015 or 2016, as well as other wind generation projects.
3) The SBA 504 loan I mentioned two weeks ago is for Glenda and Joe Horner to purchase and renovate the Comfort Inn across from Holiday Village Mall. We're financing the $3.3 million project in partnership with Mountain West Bank.The June 20-year fixed SBA 504 rate is 4.5%. We're certified to make 504 loans statewide. 4) Worked with an entrepreneur looking for financing to expand his business and a developer looking to purchase and renovate a large commercial building.
5) Worked with two Great Falls companies looking to expand with the help of our low interest loan participation product.
6) City Commission approved a streetscape and road study as another step forward in implementing the Downtown Master Plan.
7) The MT Dept. of Commerce informed us that our Small Business Development Center client satisfaction and "likely to recommend" rates were 98%!
8) Congratulations to the C.M. Russell Museum on the dedication of the new Charlie Russell Rider Sculpture Garden!
9) Congratulations to the Downtown Business Improvement District and participating artists who have completed painting more traffic control boxes downtown!
10) GFDA's Finance Committee scored proposals received from auditors to conduct our audit and prepare our tax returns for the next 3 years.
11) Our pipeline of active clients, prospects and leads is very full, but we could use more downtown and brownfield redevelopment projects, so spread the word amongst developers that we're running a July summer special on downtown and brownfield clean-up loans!
12) A tidbit from Great Falls history: Paris Gibson helped found the first industrial operation in 1888, the year Great Falls was incorporated. The Montana Smelting Company's silver operation was located next to Giant Springs.
13) June 30th marked the close of our fiscal year. Thank you to our Directors, and committee and task force members for volunteering thousands of hours to make projects happen. 15) The end of our fiscal year also marked 10 years since the founding of GFDA. It's an honor to work with all of you to grow and diversify the Great Falls economy and support the creation of high wage jobs. In the next five years, Forward Great Falls 2012-2017, everyone in Montana is going to be talking about what Great Falls has achieved by working together!
