Top 10 for the week of Aug 3rd

1) Hosted a 5 day long prospect visit and submitted our final offer package to compete for a industrial company that has shortlisted Great Falls for a major expansion. Thank you to Spencer Woith of Woith Engineering for volunteering his entire week to help with this prospect visit and to all of you who have helped with this visit and others! The feedback we've been getting from prospects and site selectors about our responsiveness, service and creativity has been excellent, thanks to all of you!
2) Held preconstruction meeting for extension of sewer service to the first lots of the Great Falls AgriTech Park. Submitted Big Sky Trust Fund grant application to help with planning and engineering for phase 2 of the Park.
3) GTF Airport Authority secured final approval of $4.2 million in grants from FAA and scheduled construction to start Monday on the $5.5 million terminal expansion. The project will add 14,000 SF of terminal space, a new gate, new single security entrance and greatly improve passenger convenience. GFDA investors L'Heureux Page Werner and Guy Tabacco Construction are working with GTF on the project (and probably several others of you!).
4) The Montana Club restaurant announced it is opening in Great Falls this fall.
5) NeighborWorks Great Falls secured approval from the Cascade County Commission to build 22 sweat equity 3-4 bedroom affordable homes in Black Eagle.
6) Our business strategy staff had a busy week working with three proposed start-ups, a proposed business expansion, and an entrepreneur seeking to purchase and retain an existing business. We assisted with industry data and market analysis, project budgeting, business valuation, land use approval process, and getting the clients bank ready.
7) City Planning is holding an open house to kick-off the Growth Policy Update this Monday, August 6th, at 6:00 PM, in the Missouri Room of the Civic Center. It's important that business leaders, property owners, developers and all those interested in growth, tax base and job creation get involved in this process. Planning staff did a great job with public involvement in the Downtown Master Plan process and plan to do the same with the Growth Policy update, but it only works if we all dedicate some time to be involved.
8) NorthWestern Energy released an RFP for Community Renewable Energy projects. If you are interested in submitting a project, the RFP is available at www.LandsEnergy.com
9) Participated in the Community Development Finance Association annual summit in DC; part of our effort to keep creating new financing tools and grow our loan capital to support businesses and developers in the Great Falls trade area.
10) The Wood MacKenzie consulting firm issued a report detailing 16 oil sand projects in Alberta with an estimated $25 billion in capital investment in just the next 4 years.

We said goodbye this week to one of our outstanding team members, Megan Smith, who has served as our Lending Associate. Megan and her husband are headed to Hurlburt Field to continue serving our country. Thank you both for your service!

Congratulations to all those involved in producing the State Fair!
