Top 15 for the week of Sep 21st

1) Promoted Great Falls and networked with companies, brokers and site selectors at the International Council of Shopping Centers Western Division meeting.
2) Worked with several prospects including one of the leads from the Ft. McMurray Oil Sands Show, our Canadian prospect, a developer seeking hotel financing, two commercial developers and two energy companies.
3) GFDA's Executive Committee approved the restrictive covenants for the Great Falls AgriTech Park and authorized the ground water study. The City Commission approved the contract for a planning study to create the tax increment financing district. We met with Fish Wildlife & Parks, the City and County to review the storm drainage report, review the scope for the ground water study and discuss traffic controls to keep trucks away from the river corridor.
4) Presented the Great Falls Brand Print to the City Commission. The Brand Alliance Creative Committee approved the color palette for the new brand strategy.
5) The City Commission approved tax increment financing for the West Bank One Kobe restaurant project and River Trail improvements.
6) The U.S. Senate approved a continuing resolution that prevents MANG's F-15's from being moved out of state.
7) Conducted a pre-clean-up walk through with Easter Seals Goodwill to begin environmental work on their new downtown center.
8) Assisted a local business to learn how to navigate the state's procurement process to pursue a new contract opportunity. Participated in a state briefing on contracting opportunities for Montana businesses.
9) Continued work with three entrepreneurs who are almost ready to apply for bank financing for two start-up businesses and the purchase of an existing business. Met with an established Great Falls manufacturing company to help with financing plans for expansion.
10) Asked the Great Falls Transportation Policy Committee, on behalf of the Central Montana Defense Alliance, to find funds to improve the center islands on 57th Street between 10th Avenue South and 2nd Street North.
11) Met with the Chamber Business Affairs Committee to discuss strategy to secure funds for an industrial, agriculture and energy trades building at Great Falls College MSU.
12) The Great Falls metropolitan area unemployment rate dropped to 5.4% in August. We're averaging 5.8% for the first 8 months of 2012, compared to the 2011 annual average of 6.0%.
13) Lodging revenue in Cascade County grew 11% in the second quarter compared to the same quarter of 2011. We're averaging 9% growth in 2012, on top of 11% growth in 2011 and 8% growth in 2010. Great job by our local hoteliers and the partnership work of the CVB, TBID, Airport, Central Montana Tourism, Confero Sports Foundation and everyone involved in boosting the number of visitors to Great Falls!
14) The Farmers Almanac named Great Falls as one of the 5 best places in the country for summer weather.
15) We hosted a group of Bozeman officials interested in developing an industrial park in their community.
