Top 8 for the week of Oct 21st

1) Another busy week working with companies interested Great Falls. We continued work with a Canadian prospect to finalize details of their proposed project, worked with a site selector looking at a potential industrial project in Great Falls, and helped a regional manufacturing prospect explore financing options including state incentive programs.
2) We worked with two new SBA 504 loan clients; an individual interested in utilizing the SBA 504 program to purchase and renovate a hotel and a company looking to use 504 financing to purchase a building for expansion. We also worked with a rural retail business on financial projections and business planning in preparation for seeking bank financing.
3) We worked with our engineers on details of storm drainage plans for the Great Falls AgriTech Park as well as beefing up restrictive covenants to protect adjoining properties. Our goal is nothing less than a world class heavy industrial park that functions well for tenants and our community long into the future.
4) Prepared proposals for meetings this coming week with 3 Alberta prospects as well as finishing touches on our exhibit at the Oil Sands Supplier event in Edmonton.
5) The Great Falls metropolitan area unemployment rate dropped to 4.8% in September from 5.4% in August. September saw our lowest unemployment rate since 2009, and was a full point below last September's rate of 5.8%.
6) We scheduled a brownfield assessment community planning meeting for investors and partners interested in helping us identify and assess contaminated properties ripe for redevelopment, including problems with asbestos and lead paint. The meeting will be Tuesday, October 23rd at 2:00 PM in the downtown US Bank building, 300 Central Avenue, on the 2nd floor. For more information, contact Shaun Tatarka at or 771-9025.
7) Participated in the national Opportunity Finance Network annual meeting of leading Community Development Financial Institutions (CDFI's) and networked with national banks and foundations that provide loan capital to CDFI's.
8) Congratulations to Mark Macek on his election as First Vice President of the CCIM Institute! The Institute is a global network of commercial real estate experts that have earned the Certified Commercial Institute Member designation.
9) Congratulations to The Front Brewing Company for winning 1st place in the Oktoberfest Beer category at the Montana Brewers Festival!

Have a great week and good luck on the hunting grounds!
