Top 11 for 1/20/2013

Here's the GFDA Top 11 for this week, celebrating great things happening to move Great Falls Forward!

1) The Great Falls City Commission unanimously approved phase 1 of the Great Falls AgriTech Park!
2) The City Commission approved on first reading annexation for the ADF Group. We worked with the public and private lending team on project financing.
3) Thank you to Steel, Etc. for its $20,000 donation to Great Falls College MSU to support American Welding Society certification as part of the expansion of the College's welding program.
4) Enbridge expects to complete the Montana portion of the Montana Alberta Tie Line this month. Let's see if we can get some more wind development under construction this year.
5) We secured a commitment from EPA for a free site assessment of the Arvon Block in downtown Great Falls to support the building's redevelopment.
6) We reviewed a financing proposal for a local business looking to grow and provided start-up kits to two Great Falls entrepreneurs considering new businesses.
7) Started underwriting two bridge loan applications to our new Enterprise Fund.
8) We participated in the Montana Economic Development Association's Economic Development Impact day in the Capitol Rotunda, met with state agencies in support of several client projects and testified in favor of a bill that would classify new hydro generation capacity as green energy to level the playing field with wind energy.
9) The Great Falls Realtors Association has some pretty interesting stats for 2012. The average sold price of houses increased 14%, from $160,510 in 2011 to $183,170 in 2012. The median sold price increased 6% from $148,000 to $156,500.
10) The new Moonshine Grill is open in the Marketplace. Panda Express started its design review process with the City.
11) The Tribune this morning noted exciting passenger numbers at Great Falls International Airport, a 10% jump from 2011 which was also a record year. According to the FAA, average ticket prices dropped 5% in the second quarter of 2012.
