GFDA Top 14 10-27-13

1) We issued a $990,000 loan commitment to the ADF Group to help finance its new fabrication and assembly facility in Great Falls in partnership with U.S. Bank.

2) New Jersey Resources has purchased the Two Dot wind project and plans to start construction on the six turbine $22 million project.
3) Networked with corporate real estate executives and site selectors at the annual Corenet Global Summit and was invited to join Corenet's Industrial and Manufacturing Knowledge Community.
4) Assisted a local business with market research on the amount of government contracts available in their area of expertise along with strategies to find solicitations in federal, state and local databases.
5) Worked with an entrepreneur looking to start a retail concept in Great Falls. Discussed core demographics of the market the concept would serve and pulled data from online market research databases to create market parameters and determine the size in number and dollar. Worked with a start-up that ran into a cash crunch caused by unplanned start-up expenses. Discussed costs of goods sold as a percentage of sales to insure pricing reflected sufficient margins to sustain operations. Discussed growth options with another company considering the feasibility of a multi-location growth plan.
6) The Downtown Development Partnership held its first inaugural annual meeting. We drafted guidelines for the Partnership to use to review project-specific tax increment financing applications to make recommendations to the City Commission.
7) Exhibited and networked at the annual conference of MSU's College of Agriculture.
8) Submitted a proposal to the Montana Farmers Union to boost our efforts to grow and diversify agri-processing operations in the Great Falls region.
9) Submitted comments to Montana State Parks in support of expanding an easement to allow a new rail spur to serve the Great Bear Innovation Park.
