Thank you to all our investors. We couldn't achieve anything without you!
16) The Montana Hospital Association published charge comparisons for the 4th quarter of 2013. Benefis Health System was 15.6% lower than its Montana peer group on inpatient charges and 18.8% lower on outpatient.
17) Kiplinger reported that U.S. oil imports dropped from a peak of 13.4 million barrels of oil and fuel per day in 2005 to 5.2 million now. 18) Montana's wind electric generation in January ranked 18th amongst U.S. states, according to the U.S. Energy Information Administration. Though we have some of the best wind resources in the country, our generation represented only 1.4% of the nation's total.Geographically, we're stuck in between the West coast and Midwest electric transmission networks, and have been left out by both. When west coast power demands increase, we won't be able to build more wind farms in Montana unless federal agencies like the Bonneville Power Administration move forward on the long delayed upgrade of the Colstrip transmission line.
19) On the coal front, guess who's the fastest gropwing coal import country? It's Japan.
20) Montana farmers are expected to plant 520,000 acres of dry edible peas this year, nearly three times the acres planted in 2011 and 80,000 acres more than last year, according to the USDA National Agricultural Statistics Service Prospective Plantings report.
21) If you've eaten all your Easter PEEPs already, never fear. The Prairie Star reports that candy-maker Just Born, Inc. makes about 5.5 million PEEPs every day!
PLEASE Get Out The Vote in Support of the Great Falls Schools Levy!
GFDA urges you to support the levy, spread the word and work to get the vote out. Ballots will soon be arriving in mail boxes across the City. Your voice doesn't count if you don't vote!
Jeremiah and I recently met with leading site selection consultants in Dallas. They talked with us about how their business clients look at immediately available workforce, and the strength of K-12 and community college education and training programs. Clients also look at the workforce pipeline 5-10-15 years in the future. The proposed levy will fund efforts to help kids dealing with substance abuse, a big issue in our workforce, and to help more kids to stay in school and graduate. These students are your future employees and customers. They're also the ones who will be paying future Social Security and Medicare bills, and buying your house when you look to cash out. So, it's in all our interests to insure they get a great education.
We need to attract great employees to move to Great Falls. We can't do that without great schools.

Vote to keep growing and strengthening our economy! Get the vote out!
