Here's the GFDA Top 22 for this week, celebrating great things happening to move Great Falls Forward!

1) The Montana Public Service Commission gave final approval to NorthWestern Energy's purchase of PPL's Montana hydroelectric dams, including the five dams in Cascade County.
2) A prospect we've been working with selected a national developer to conduct final feasibility work on its potential build-to-suit project in Great Falls.
3) First Peoples Buffalo Jump State Park's efforts to become a National Historic Landmark took a step forward with the Montana State Historic Preservation Review Board meeting on site. The Park's nomination will be reviewed in DC in December.
4) The EPA approved another Targeted Brownfield Assessment of the historic downtown Rocky Mountain Building which we requested to support redevelopment efforts.
5) The City's Planning Advisory Board supported annexation of a 2.6 acre enclave in Northview for a proposed development of 12 townhouses.
6) The new Starbucks at 10th Avenue South and 32nd Street opened!
7) Worked with a client to help navigate through the Federal IPP Payment system invoicing process. Assisted a local business with reactivating their record to be able to receive a contract award prior to the federal year end.
8) Worked with a Montana group looking at the feasibility of a new agri-processing plant. Discussed Great Falls with a Canadian manufacturer who contacted us two years after a contact we made at the Gas and Oil Expo in Calgary.
9) Began work with a new entrepreneur considering the purchase of a well-established area business. The entrepreneur selected our analysis services to determine the business' historic performance and its ability to service debt. For more information about these services, contact Rebecca Engum at 1-406-771-9032 or REngum@GFdevelopment.org
10) Worked with a client to determine options for debt restructuring following a thorough analysis of company financials and markets. Discussed effective marketing strategies. If your profits are below expectations, we can help you find ways to improve financial performance.
11) Delivered Thought Patterns for High Performance to an excellent group of growth-focused business leaders. Thought Patterns for High Performance, a two-day premier leadership training that changes the way you view your business, will be offered again in early 2015. If you'd like to learn more about this amazing culture-changing training, or would like to bring a custom version to your team, contact Rebecca at REngum@GFdevelopment.org
12) Facilitated three community planning sessions for the upcoming make-over of the Great Falls Visitor Information Center. This first step will help us determine what should be included in the center exhibits and what percentage of space should be devoted to each thing. Next step will be to gather ideas for space design. Thank you to all who participated and gave us great ideas! If you would like to get involved or are interested in sponsorship opportunities, contact Jolene Bach at JBach@GFdevelopment.org or 1-406-750-4481.
13) Submitted an application, on behalf of Cascade County, GFDA and Sweetgrass Development, to the National Association of Counties to host a Prosperity Summit in Cascade County, bringing in experts on community asset-based wealth-building ideas to complement our economic development efforts.
14) Gave a presentation on incubating downtown businesses at the Montana Downtown Conference and enjoyed networking and learning at the conference with a sizable Great Falls contingent.
