GFDA Top 14 for 12/14/14

Here's the GFDA Top 14 for this week, celebrating great things happening to move Great Falls Forward!
1) Hosted an out-of-town prospect looking to purchase a site in the Great Falls AgriTech Park and coordinated meetings important to the company's potential Great Falls project.
2) Networked with eight site selection consultants from across the country at the Site Selector Forum held in Ft. Lauderdale.
3) Helped a client complete their financial package to apply for an SBA 504 loan for a franchise. Helped another client with an Incumbent Worker Training Program grant application. To learn more about business financing or employee training funds, contact Jason Nitschke at
4) Submitted a Tax Increment Financing application to the City for the Great Falls AgriTech Park to prepare for spring construction of further Park infrastructure and the groundbreaking of the first Park tenants!
5) Hosted Katie and Tom Spika of Spika Manufacturing and Welding of Lewistown, MT at GFDA's CEO Forum. Katie and Tom discussed leadership transition within their company, the challenges and concerns they encountered, and their transition progress. 7) Nelson Architects presented the initial design plan for the Great Falls Visitor Information Center makeover. Participants at the charrettes provided feedback that is now being incorporated into the design and budget planning. For more information, contact Jolene Bach at
8) Signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Great Falls College MSU to support the College's leadership of the statewide SWAMMEI workforce training effort.
9) GFDA is today issuing a Request for Qualifications seeking interest from professional firms and individuals to provide a wide range of professional services to support our mission, including but not limited to advertising, computer services, copy writing, contact database management, event management, executive coaching, facilitation, grant writing, graphic design, loan underwriting, marketing, photography, public relations, social media, public opinion and client satisfaction survey, and videography services. 12) We're pleased to announce another great speaker for the Montana Economic Development Conference that we're hosting in Great Falls May 4-6, 2015 with the Montana Economic Developers Association. Jeff Finkle, President & CEO of the International Economic Development Council will give a keynote on cutting edge economic development strategies creating success in rural states, provinces and regions across the globe.
