GFDA Top 10 For The Week

Here is the GFDA Top 10 for this week:
1) Presented an agri-processing workshop at MT Farmers Union Ag Summit in Great Falls with panelists from MaltEurop, Montana Eggs, Montana Milling, Montana Specialty Mills and Pasta Montana.
2) Closed a $50,000 CDBG loan as part of the permanent financing for the Montana Eggs expansion. Thank you to the many GFDA investors who partnered to make this project happen, including City of Great Falls, CTA Architects & Engineers, Guy Tabacco Construction and Mountain West Bank.
3) Great Falls Brand Alliance met to work on research data to send to our brand development consultants and to prepare for 1:1 interviews and focus groups the week of September 6th.
4) GFDA Loan Committee approved a $70,000 Great Falls Downtown Loan Fund commitment to bridge-finance a downtown redevelopment project.
5) Holiday Village Mall announced Big Lots will become a new tenant. We pitched Big Lots at fall and winter ICSC meetings to help fill vacant commercial space in town.
6) Closed our FY 2011. Four GFDA Directors are stepping down from the Board. Please join us in thanking Al Hobbs of Montana Refining Company, Mike Tabacco of Guy Tabacco Construction, Kelly Tynes of Kelly & Eugene Tynes, DDS, and Bill Weber of First Interstate Bank for their years of service!
7) GFDA Nominating Committee, led by past Board Chair Steve L'Heureux of L'Heureux Page Werner, announced slate of new Directors: Dexter Busby of Montana Refining Company, Al Frankel of Dick Anderson Construction, Jerry Hood of Edward Jones Investment Advisors, and Ted Lewis of First Interstate Bank. Innovative Postal Services will be mailing ballots to all investor members this week.
8) Selected John Mack of Great Falls as our new Business Strategist. Over the next year, John will be taking on most of our SBDC clientele in preparation for launch of our second stage high-growth company initiative. Promoted Lillian Sunwall to Business Strategist & Project Manager and Jamie Gormley to Business Development Associate.
9) In FY 2011, GFDA and High Plains Financial combined had our most active lending year ever, working with our lending partners to get projects in the ground that wouldn't otherwise happen. Loans closed and loan commitments totaled $4,816,046 for the year, leveraging over $11 million in capital investment.
10) GFDA closed fiscal year with no delinquent loans and no loan write-offs since the start of the recession.
